Stair Rods
Also known as carpet rods, stair rods come in a wide variety of ranges and finishes and finials (the decorative or ornamental end piece at the end of the rods). The rod itself can be triangular, plain, polygonal, fluted (or reeded), or spiral, with finial designs ranging from crystal globes, fleur de lis, acorn, and square, through to crosses, arrows, pistons and beaten iron. Across the different ranges, finishes are available in polished, antiqued or satin brass, bronze, chrome, satin chrome, nickel, gun-metal and pewter.
Generally, all solid brass or timber stair rods are made to measure, however, there are hollow versions available which are cut to size and finished on site. Although these come in a narrower range of styles and finishes than the solid stair rods, they do carry the added advantage of being less expensive than the solid versions.
